Gusto 101 gets its name from the word TASTY in Italian plus the number where to find them on Portland Street. One of the most hip and happening places in the Toronto Fashion District, Gusto 101 serves authentic Italian inspired by the classics of Southern Italy… with some international twists!
Besides an amazing Italian-based wine list, Gusto 101 features the creations of winemaker Alejandra de Miguel from Vintage One, who serves up a tasty house wine on tap at a $1 an ounce as well as some more serious barrel-aged selections.
Why does the restaurant look so cool? Leading interiors firm Munge Leung took the dilapidated auto body shop that was on the property and turned it into an Italian Trattoria. It is industrial, but somehow warm and romantic. The all-seasons rooftop terrace, which boasts a cutting-edge retractable glass roof, is simply to die for. In fact, Gusto 101 beat out hundreds of other restaurants to win the 2013 International Hospitality Design Award, honouring the achievements of superior design and architecture around the world.
